Bloc Party finden Drogenkonsum normal

Kele Okereke hat sich gegen den Vorwurf gewehrt, dass einige Texte auf dem Bloc Party-Album "A Weekend In The City" Drogen verherrlichen würden. Okereke kommt zum Schluss, dass das "keine grosse Sache"sei, weil"Drogen in der modernen Gesellschaft zum Leben gehören". Verherrlichen möchte er da nichts:"I think in the 21st Century drug-taking is something that is synonymous with life, really. All I intended to do with the songs is to capture what modern life feels like. Im not trying to glamorise anything, it's just aimed at being honest. I'm not making a judgement about drugs; they are just there in the background."
